Paul S. Hesselink Concert Series Continues with Jason Klein-Mendoza in Organ Recital

The Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (SNCAGO) invites the community to an evening of outstanding organ music as the Paul S. Hesselink Concert Series presents acclaimed organist Jason Klein-Mendoza on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Henderson, Nevada.

This special recital will showcase St. Timothy's newly installed Rodgers Imagine two-manual organ, completed in August 2026. The instrument provides an exciting new setting for organ performance in the Las Vegas Valley, and audiences will have the opportunity to experience its musical capabilities through a diverse program spanning more than four centuries of organ literature.

A Celebration of the Organ, Old and New

Klein-Mendoza's program explores the remarkable versatility of the organ, from the brilliance of the Baroque period to the lush harmonies of French Romantic music and the expressive works of contemporary composers.

The evening includes Johann Sebastian Bach's monumental Prelude and Fugue in D Major, BWV 532; César Franck's lyrical Cantabile; Florence Price's Adoration; Herbert Howells' Psalm Prelude II; and selections by Craig Phillips, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Brenda Portman, and Ian Farrington.

The program concludes with two compositions by Louis Vierne, Clair de Lune and the spectacular Carillon de Westminster, a celebrated showpiece of the organ repertoire.

The combination of historic and contemporary repertoire offers audiences an opportunity to experience the distinctive tonal possibilities of the new Rodgers Imagine organ.
