Suite Nederlandish for bassoon and organ by Aaron David Miller was premiered on the recital, It was commissioned by Paul S. Hesselink for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Southern Nevada AGO Chapter, and was performed by Janis McKay, bassoon, and Paul Hesselink, organ. The three-movement suite consists of settings of Dutch hymn tunes Kremser, In Babilone, and Vreuchten. A goal of the commissioner was to create a composition of only moderate difficulty reflecting his Dutch heritage, to add to the relatively small repertoire of works for bassoon and organ. The new composition can be heard and the score followed at aaronda-vidmiller.com
