Robert Grant

 

Currently serving at the Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church as director of music and liturgy, Bob Grant is a native of sunny California. Bob has been involved in church music for over 45 years as an organist, choirmaster, and liturgist, both civilian and military. He has served as adjunct faculty teaching accompanying, handbells, church music, organ, and piano, as well as staff accompanist.  He has performed throughout Arizona and California, and in the Philippines. 

Bob holds a bachelors from Grand Canyon University in organ performance, and a masters from California State University Fullerton in choral conducting.  He has additional studies from ASU, USCLA, and New Orleans Theological Seminary in choral conducting, organ, handbells, and hymnology; and the Catholic University of America in Gregorian chant, polyphony, liturgy, and traditional Latin Mass. 

An active member of the AGO since 1985, Bob served as sub dean as well as newsletter editor for the Orange County California chapter.  His organ teachers include Drs. Euel Belcher, Robert Clark, Gerald Altman, and Esther Jones.  His choral conducting teachers include Drs. Earl Logan, Rob Istad, William Belan, Don Gringer, Donald Neuen, and John Alexander.  He is a fan of history and an avid reader.
