Organ Resurgence Continues in Las Vegas with New St. John Neumann & Green Valley Presbyterian Installations and Hector Olivera Performances

LAS VEGAS, Nevada | November 2025 — Southern Nevada’s growing investment in the pipe organ continues with the dedication of a new hybrid Rodgers organ at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church in North Las Vegas.

On Friday, November 7, members of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (SNCAGO) joined parishioners, musicians, and guests for a dedication recital performed by internationally acclaimed organist Hector Olivera.

The newly installed instrument features seven divisions and six ranks of pipes, comprising more than 500 individual pipes integrated with Rodgers Instruments’ digital sampling technology.

Following the recital, members of the Southern Nevada Chapter gathered with Maestro Olivera and representatives of Rodgers Instruments to recognize the completion of the project.

The St. John Neumann organ is part of a broader period of investment in new instruments throughout the Las Vegas Valley. It is one of three Rodgers installations recently completed or underway in Southern Nevada, alongside projects at Green Valley Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbyterian Church.

“Three major organ installations in a relatively short period of time demonstrate real institutional confidence in the future of the instrument,” said Dr. William Freeman, Dean of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. “Our role is not simply to celebrate that growth, but to help sustain it by connecting musicians, institutions, educators, and audiences. Las Vegas is developing a stronger organ culture, and the momentum is unmistakable.”

The weekend celebration continues on Sunday, November 9, at 3:00 PM, when Hector Olivera will perform a dedication recital on the new installation at Green Valley Presbyterian Church.
